NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the La Verne Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 6:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, La Verne City Hall, 3660 “D” Street, La Verne.  The Planning Commission will be making a recommendation to the City Council on the General Plan and the Environmental Impact Report  (EIR) prepared for the General Plan.

Planning Commission Public Hearing Notice

The City of La Verne will facilitate a joint Study Session with the Planning Commission and City Council to present a briefing on the General Plan Update project. City Staff and the Consultant team will be available to answer questions. No formal action will occur at this meeting.

Please join the Cit of La Verne for a self-guided Open House. Arrive anytime between 5:00pm and 7:00pm to learn more about the General Plan Update and preview the Draft General Plan Policy Document, ask questions, and provide feedback on the Plan. All are welcome to attend and light refreshments will be provided.

At their eleventh and final meeting, the La Verne GPAC will share their feedback on the final round of Draft Policy sets (see Meeting #10 for details) and conclude their commitment to assisting the City with a comprehensive updated to its General Plan.

At their tenth meeting, the General Plan Advisory Committee will provide feedback on the first round of Draft Goal and Policy sets (see Meeting #9 for details) and be provided with the remaining Draft Goal and Policy sets for the following topics:

• Land Use

• Mobility

• Economic Development

• Fiscal Sustainability

• Climate Change and Resiliency Planning

All members of the public are welcome to come.

At their ninth meeting, the General Plan Advisory Committee will begin their review of the Draft General Plan Policy Document. At this meeting, we will consider Draft Goal and Policy Sets for the following topics:

• Resource Management

• Community Services and Facilities

• Public Safety

• Community Health and Wellness

• Community Design

All members of the public are welcome to come.

The La Verne Planning Commission will receive a project update at their regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday March 13, 2019. All are welcome to attend. There will be time for public comment. Please find the Agenda here.

The City Council will receive a Status Update presentation at their regularly scheduled City Council meeting on Monday March 4, 2019. Please see the Agenda Management system for more information on the Agenda topics.

The eight GPAC meeting will address the topic of Land Use and Visioning. Please see the meeting materials here. All are welcome to attend.

The seventh GPAC meeting will address the topic of Community Design. Please see the meeting materials here. All are welcome to attend.

The sixth GPAC meeting will address the topic of Mobility. Please see the meeting materials here. All are welcome to attend.

The fifth GPAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 26th at 5:30 at La Verne City Hall. At this meeting the GPAC will be discussing topics related to Conservation and Open Space, including air quality, natural resources, and parks and recreation. All are welcome to attend.

The fourth GPAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday August 22nd, 2018. This meeting will address the topic of Land Use. Please find more information regarding this meeting posted on the GPAC page of this website. 

The third GPAC meeting is scheduled for July 18th, 2018. This meeting will address the topic of Economic Development. Please see the meeting agenda and material here. 

The second GPAC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday June 27th, 2018. The topic of this meeting is Noise and Safety. Please see the meeting material posted here.

Any person desiring to speak should complete a ‘Speaker Card,’ located on the entrance table, and hand it to the Community Development Director. Please limit comments to three minutes or less.

The City of La Verne General Plan team will provide the City Council a briefing on the General Plan Update. This briefing will include:

• + Summary of Visioning Workshops held in the Fall of 2017 
• + Results of Visioning Survey available online during January and February 2018
• + General Plan Advisory Committee status and proposed meeting schedule 
• + Existing Conditions Report findings
• + Identification of significant issues and opportunities for further analysis 

We invite all members of the La Verne community to attend the City Council briefing to learn more about the project and how to get involved. The presentation to City Council will be posted on this website following the March 19th briefing. 

The City of La Verne General Plan team will make a brief presentation to the Old Town La Verne Business Improvement District regarding the General Plan Update at the group's 2018 Annual Meeting. City Staff will be available to answer questions regarding the project and will provide additional information for how the La Verne business community can get involved in the process. 

Please join the City of La Verne at our third and final initial Visioning Workshop for the General Plan Update project! We want to hear from you about what you want to see for the future of La Verne.

This workshop will focus on issues related to transportation and mobility, including how people get around La Verne (cars, transit, bikes, and walking) and traffic. Please join us to share your ideas and suggestions for:

• + Reducing traffic congestion
• + Improving access to transit services
• + Getting around on your bike or by walking
• + Making La Verne’s streets safer for all uses
• + Commuting related challenges and opportunities
